Overview
Zal, ingenioso ladrón y amante del arte, está siendo chantajeado por su jefe para que cometa un robo de gran envergadura. A modo de entrenamiento, Innez y sus chicos atracan un pequeño banco de Glasgow en el que hacen uso de métodos poco ortodoxos, tales como disparar polvos pica-pica, utilizar pistolas falsas o dibujar obras de arte para tranquilizar a sus rehenes. Durante el delirante asalto, Zal conoce a la detective Angelique. Conscientes de la fuerte atracción que sienten el uno por el otro, nace un amor imposible. Brookmyre despliega esta desternillante y muy cinematográfica tragicomedia presentándonos un cóctel de sátira social, romance y suspense, asistido por su florida y coloquial prosa y su profundamente subversiva inteligencia.
Christopher Brookmyre (Glasgow, 1968) es novelista y presidente de la Humanist Society of Scotland. Sus novelas, de narrativa potente, son una mezcla de comedia, denuncia social, acción y política. Ha recibido varios premios a lo largo de su carrera, entre los que se incluyen el Critics First Blood Award for Best First Crime Novel of the Year por 'Quite Ugly One Morning', o el Scottish Crime Book of the Year por 'Black Widow' (2016). Vive en Glasgow con su familia.
